Susan believes her website, www.snicholasart.com, is the force behind her progress as a professional artist. “It seems to me the one most important element in the business of art is to have a beautiful website that has a purpose and a goal behind it.” A high quality and informative website attracts art buyers, students, professional organizations and many others involved in the art world including art supply manufacturers and distributors.
After her website went online, art supply manufacturers took notice! She was invited by Jack Richardson & Co. to be a product tester and demonstrator and was also involved in product testing of Gamblin’s Fast Matt oil colors. Now Susan’s teachings and workshops are product sponsored by a dozen national art companies. Students get to try out new art supplies and take them home too!
Social media and placing ads in prestigious magazines such as Fine Art Connoisseur, PleinAir magazine, and Pastel Journal play a big part in her advertising. Also, being asked to be faculty at the Plein Air Convention exposed her to “Boot Camp” marketing and terrific strategies for flourishing as a professional artist. Currently she teaches students of all levels in pastel and oil at the Art Alliance of Central PA, as well at her studio in Bellefonte, PA.
