“My painting is called ‘A Bright Morning in Mendocino.’ The painting is done with soft pastels and is double matted and framed in a custom frame. The scene is one that really caught my eye and attention for some time while we were visiting Mendocino, California on my 77th birthday. The two prior days had been very cool and foggy. This particular summer’s day was bright and clear, still cool with a strong breeze blowing that drove the fog out. Terrific for photography with the sharpness and clarity of everything. I had to paint this scene when I returned home and chose to do so during a heat wave when so many fires were burning that made painting inside a necessity. Just thinking of that wonderful place and the coolness was an inspiration.”
