“Winter brings me back to my studio time. I love teaching plein air and studio workshops, but winter is a time to rejoice and focus on personal work. It’s also a time to show new art in galleries for the holidays. Although this year has been unique with Covid restrictions, we are learning how to mask and get out safely.
‘Winter’s Serenity Path’, 24×12, oil on panel, has been a two year journey in my studio. My recent cataract surgery gave me the vision to finally see my way to the serenity I have been searching for in this painting. It was inspired by a magical walk in fresh snow along a path by a woodland pond in the mountains of central PA. I remember feeling such deep serenity and connection to the earth. I wanted to share my love of nature and the simple joys it gives to us.”
